My name is Stratton, I am a recent graduate from Washington State University Vancouver's Creative Media and Digital Culture program of the Department of Digital Technology and Culture where I studied web development, technical writing, and game design.
I am a passionate, detail oriented developer with 3 years of experience. I am looking for work that will strengthen and expand my web development skill set. My next goal after graduating is to move into full-stack web development.
I have worked in a variety of fields and roles in my working career from forklift operation to management positions. I believe that experiencing a broad spectrum of the professional world provides valuable perspective on how others think, which is an essential part of any design and development work.

During the time I spent studying at WSU Vancouver I gained perspective on how important clear, concise, and intentional writing was to all kinds of professional work. I had the privilege to work with several organizations that provided opportunites to design and implement complex writing genres. These included writing grants and press releases for a non-profit, a white paper for an organization applying for 501(c)3 non-profit status, and freelance work designing a manual for a local manufacturing firm.
I did a professional writing internship as part of my Professional Writing certificate with the Collective for Social and Environmental Justice (CSEJ) at WSU Vancouver. During this time I wrote press releases, grant proposals, and maintained CSEJ's web presence.
As another element of the Professional Writing Certificate I led a team putting together a white paper proposal for the Columbia River Indian Center to apply for 501(c)3 status.
I worked for Miller Paint Company for several years in their warehouse and shipping departments. After I left at the start of 2022 I was hired back to create a manual for the production area of the factory.
This was excellent graphic design, technical writing, and freelance experience that was an opportunity to put many of the skills I learned in school to use. This manual is one of a set of deliverables created for the company to use in their factory and warehouse
